Howdy! I love to read several books at a time, especially queer horror and speculative fiction. Books with strong world-building, unreliable narrators, vivid imagery and challenging concepts are my mainstay. When I’m not sucked into a compelling novel, I like to read nonfiction about gender and sexuality, Black cowboys and animals. I also LOVE horror movies and animation. My favorite films combine compelling composition, set design and art direction. Bonus points for practical effects!

Drop me a line if you want recommendations or just to talk about books, movies, music or video games!

Favorite authors: Octavia E. Butler, Gretchen Felker-Martin, Cadwell Turnbull, Gengoroh Tagame

Favorite directors/animators: Park Chan-Wook, Bong Joon-Ho, Ridley Scott, Dev Patel, Hayao Miyazaki, James Baxter

The Best of Queer Horror

Nobody does horror like us! The LGBTQIA2S+ community knows what it's like to be made to feel monstrous, which makes for some of the most compelling horror novels. This collection is primarily by queer authors, about queer characters, but I threw the original Carmilla in there too because it's a classic. There's also some nonfiction titles about queer identities and the horror genre, and a few films as well!
