Multnomah County Library offers services and collections to welcome people of all abilities.
If you have a reading barrier, Bookshare e-books can make reading easier. You can customize your reading experience with audio, audio + highlighted text, braille, large font, and other formats. It works on almost any device. Multnomah County Library partners with Bookshare to make the service available for free to patrons with visual, physical and print disabilities. E-books are available in English and Spanish.

Account assistance

The library offers several options that may make it easier to manage your library card account. These include longer loan and hold periods. Please contact us for details.

Attending events and classes

Browsing assistance

Patrons who need assistance browsing the collection may make a one-on-one appointment with staff. Fill out this form or contact us to make an appointment.

Service animals

Multnomah County Library welcomes service animals in the library. Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), are dogs or, in some cases miniature horses, that have been trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.
