Creative Software Exploration Drop-In
The Creative Software Exploration Drop In is a space for creative exploration and experimentation for individuals aged 13 and above. Through self-guided tutorials, participants can delve into various audio, video, animation, art, and other creative software. Whether you come with a specific project in mind or simply want to explore and discover new interests, the Holgate library offers a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Laser engrave a custom phone stand
Decorate and engrave a custom wooden phone stand using a laser cutter. All materials will be provided.
To attend this program, you need to have basic computer skills and know how to use a computer with a mouse. Children in grades 5 and under must be accompanied by an attentive teen or adult.
Space is limited and registration is required. Registration opens on October 31.

Reed the Brain! Neuroscience for Kids
Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste & Touch! Kids will learn how all the senses contribute to make meaning in our brains. Fun hands-on activities will spark curiosity for kids ages 8 to 12.

Sewing a Zipper Pouch for Teens
In this three hour course, participants will learn how to sew a zipper pouch from a professional fashion instructor. Skills covered: how to thread a sewing machine, perform a basic straight stitch, and sew a zipper into a pouch. Participants can select from a variety of sizes and shapes. All materials will be provided. Grades 6-12.

Come explore science, technology, engineering, math and robotics concepts with Lego STEM kits in a hands-on, fun, and engaging environment. Kids grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills as a team and gain real-world problem solving experience through a guided, global robotics program, helping them build a better future. For kids ages 6-10+.

STEAM Themed Teen Dream Drop-In
Teens grades 6 through 12 are welcome to join teen librarian Chloë for an afternoon of creative exploration in the large conference room at Gresham. The Rockwood makerspace will be bringing a small collection of creative tools — make a vinyl sticker, sew a pillow, play with electronics. It’s your choice! What is STEAM? It stands for Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.
