Here is a list of local mental health resources and organizations working to destigmatize Black mental health and provide support to the Black community here in Multnomah County. At the library, we are proud to center resources that help communities thrive and succeed.

Community-based organization focuses on achieving justice for BIPOC (Brown, Indigenous, People of Color) individuals and families in Oregon.

Supports Black families to achieve educational excellence. They collaborate with parents to create innovative, culturally-relevant and sustainable interventions and opportunities to help children thrive.

Senior nutrition program for those ages 60 and older. The program offers home delivery to dozens of neighborhood locations. Serves Clark, Washington and Multnomah counties. Meals are delivered Monday through Thursday between 10 am and 2 pm.

Nutritious meals provided to women and their children. At-the-door support includes food, water, emergency clothing, diapers, wipes, hygiene products, mail service, pet food and outdoor supplies as they last.

A resource for youth and families, primarily Black, living in poverty or seeking culturally responsive services. They offer community and family programs, a hotline and support services.

This program provides safety planning and face-to-face contact within 48 hours of assignment, as well as crisis-oriented services, on-going support to individuals and families, and access to individual counseling and support groups. You must make an appointment ahead of time.
