Hand Felted Portraits

Mon Jan 27
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Learn how to make a felt portrait with artist LeBrie Rich. Kids will create a wool textile portrait using the ancient craft of wet felting. For fancy presentation, color the ornate frame to display your portrait. Color, cut and paste custom “personality icons” (think: emojis) around the frame to complete the story of the person (or animal) pictured.

This project is done in two sessions, ten kids at a time, and takes about 40 minutes. For ages five and up.

Made possible by the Harold & Arlene Schnitzer Children's Art Programs Endowed Fund of The Library Foundation.
