New North Portland Library opens February 8 with ribbon cutting ceremony

                           Community celebrations follow February 8-9 with music and fun

PORTLAND, Ore.--February 7, 2025

Multnomah County Library is excited to celebrate the grand opening of North Portland Library with two, fun-filled days of activities for the community and you’re invited. These events will run from Saturday, February 8 to Sunday, February 9 beginning with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, February 8.

What: North Portland Library ribbon cutting ceremony as part of Multnomah County Library Capital Building Projects, brief remarks and photo opportunity

When: Saturday, February 8, 9:30-10 am

Where: North Portland Library (512 N Killingsworth Street, Portland, OR 97217)

Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson will join North Portland Library’s ribbon cutting ceremony along with District 2 Commissioner Shannon Singleton; Director of Libraries Annie Lewis; Department of County Assets Director & Chief Information Officer Tracey Massey; and Judy Knawls Boyer, President of North/Northeast AARP Chapter 5264 and longtime community activist. 

Following the remarks and ribbon cutting, community celebrations will begin with the Jefferson Dance Team, followed by family craft time, henna and more.
