Level Up at Your Library at Multnomah County Library.

Read for fun and prizes this summer. Youth of all ages can play the Summer Reading game by starting a daily reading habit. In addition, the library will host events for kids and families, both online and in person, including interactive performances, storytime programs and arts and crafts for kids. It all kicks off June 16!

The teen Summer Reading art contest winning art will be featured in the Summer Reading Guide Book.

How to play:

  • Mark a space for each day you read, listen to a book or do any summer learning activity.
  • After marking 15 spaces, visit the library and choose a prize. Level 1 prizes are available beginning June 30.
  • After marking 30 spaces, visit the library and choose a prize. Level 2 prizes are available beginning July 15.
  • After marking 45 spaces, visit the library to fill out the finisher form. You can pick up a T-shirt or onesie, and a prize. The first day to claim the finisher prize is July 30. 
  • All prizes are available while supplies last. 
  • One prize may be claimed per level. There are three levels.
  • Complete 45 days and turn in a completed finisher form to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing for your age group: Ages 0-4, kindergarten to grade 8 and grades 9-12. 
  • The last day to turn in forms to the library is August 31.

Summer Reading game rules

Each person can only collect prizes for one active game board. Participation is limited to ages 0-18. There is no cost to play or win. You must be a resident of Multnomah County to be eligible to win the Grand Prize drawing. Odds of winning Grand Prizes are based on the number of entries received. Winners are drawn at random. Grand Prize and runner-up winners will be notified and announced by October 15.
